The lights and the music was so cool. Some people got photos done and some people just sat down in the corner. There was a shuffle off and the only people from room 16 who shuffled was Ami and me (I was the only girl who danced). Tim and I had a dance off as well and I won!!!! There was the best dressed boy and girl from each sindacit and they won a prize but I'm not sure who won from Toroa. Then we all went home at nine o'clock.

Norths Onepoto vs Tawa Under 12s

We played Tawa under 12.We 'slapped' them 54 nil.

We play rugby union which is a 15 a side game, played with a oval shaped ball on a rectanglular field.

Points are scored by:
  • scoring tries worth 5 points

  • kicking conversions worth 2 points

  • kicking penalties worth 3 points

  • drop kicks worth 3 points

So as you can see we scored 10 tries and kicked 2 conversion.

1 of North Onepoto's tries scored by Zane.

Norths Onepoto were on their own try line.

Norths Onepoto have just turned the ball over in the maul. Harry, who plays half back, gave Mahana a spin pass. Mahana took it to the line and suddenly Mahana kicked it down field with Broadus and Zane chasing.

The ball stopped just before halfway but Broadus and Zane were still chasing it down. They got to the ball and Broadus kicked it forward about 10 metres as and continued to chase the ball. Zane kicked it again and got a lucky bounce and he was away scoring one of Norths Onepoto many tries.

Room16 Anzac Letters.

Last week room 16 students wrote letters as if they were in the war. Here are some of the letters.

Dear Mother and Father

We arrived at Gallopolli this morning. The beach we landed on had a beautiful sandy shore. We were greated by a man who showed us to our dug outs where we spent the rest of the afternoon. The food here is not nearly as good as yours mum. Tomrrow there is not much planned as far as I know but there is not going to be any fighting so there is no need to worry. I hope the rest of the family is well and I hope to be home soon.

Love your oldest son

John
